Protective Coatings is equipped to manufacture virtually any type of molded rubber part - molded rubber only, rubber and fabric, rubber to metal, even parts containing rubber fabric and metal.
Our expertise is in molding large parts.
In many instances Proco is able to provide parts completely molded and vulcanized in one piece replacing the same part previously made by molding two separate pieces and gluing them together.
This one piece molding process maintains the total integrity of the part over time.
Molding rubber to metal involves the proper preparation of the metal by removing protective oils so the rubber will adhere to the metal during the molding process.
The metal is then grit blasted or acid etched to create the proper surface for the adhesive layer to be added.
The metal is coated with the proper adhesive system to insure the rubber compound which meets the engineered needs of your part will properly adhere to the metal when compression molded in the press.
Once the part is molded, the excess rubber is trimmed from the part, the metal is cleaned and packaged to your specifications and shipped to you on time.
