Rubber lined carbon steel pipe (RLCS) is used to transport Abrasive slurry solutions, corrosive chemicals, and many other liquids from one place to another.
Since most Rubber Lined Pipe (RLCS) applications are for transporting abrasive slurries, we test our materials for abrasion resistance to ensure we are providing you with the best product suited to your needs.
Taber Abrasion Comparison of Lining Materials
Compounds Tested for Abrasion Resistance: • PC-60ARN - Proco's proprietary Abrasion resistant Black Natural Rubber compound. • Polyurethane - 90 Durometer abrasion resistant polyurethane believed to be best. • Black Natural - 60 Durometer abrasion resistant rubber specified by our competitors. • Tan Gum - 40 Durometer rubber often specified by others because of its low cost. The table above shows that Proco's PC-60ARN exhibits the best abrasion resistance. Even better, our PC-60ARN has a low installed cost. Don't let other companies sell you an inferior product with a thin top coat of polyurethane. Our lining gives you the same outstanding abrasion resistance through its entire thickness. We can install rubber lining in pipe as small as 1½" dia. and as large as 144" dia. We vulcanize (cure) the lining installed in pipe up to 88" diameter in our autoclaves. Curing in an autoclave produces superior adhesion properties over other processes (i.e. atmospheric and internal steam). Autoclave curing also maximizes the lining life in the pipe versus other methods. We can apply rubber lining over many different pipe substrates including: carbon steel, aluminum, copper, brass, cast iron, stainless steel & fiberglass. We can fabricate and rubber line your pipe with a minimum lead-time. All Rubber Lined Pipe (RLCS) orders receive the same attention, whether it's a large order, or a single piece. |
